Axanite

Axinite gets its name from the sharp axe-shaped crystals. It is very difficult to cut Axinite and therefore there are extremely few high quality stones available, making this stone a rarer one. Axinite is mined in several places such as the USA, Mexico, England and France, but the finest stones are mined in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Axanite has a hardness of 7, which makes it a very durable stone that is excellent for setting jewelry.
