Moonstone:
Moonstone is a variant of orthoclase that is opalescent with a lovely shimmer of color that resembles the glow of the moon. The shimmer is caused by light reflection from the internal structure consisting of an intergrowth of albite and orthoclase feldspar. Thin layers of albite give the beautiful blue color; thick layers give a white shimmer.
